James had been thinking for days. He did not sleep at night; he couldn’t even if he tried. Every time he almost fell asleep he dreamed about all of the men that were lost in the battle. He could see them moaning, and their families crying, and then he would wake up sweating and panicking. It had been 5 day’s since they can came from being captured. Spencer, Vaughn and Victor had been working out plans but no one had come up with something brilliant. They had barley any men and the Cyclopes had many many many soldiers. James got out of his bed and headed down to the great hall where he expected to find the men planning out more ideas. He reached there to find not only his men but the king of Yumazadra, the king of the dwarfs, and Wesley. “You’re awake!” greeted Spencer. “Yea,” James mumbled. “Hi, James!” Jessica giggled as she walked into the room carrying breakfast. James interest sparked up, he sat up immediately. “Hi, Jessica,” James blushed. His cheeks became red. “We need more soldiers,” said Vaughn as he continued to make a plan. “No, We have already lost enough men.” James argued. “Then what do you propose we do?” “I don’t know,” James mumbled in defeat. All of the men tried to convince James that the only way to win this war and save his father was to go to battle. When lunch came around all of the men left to the dining hall. James stayed back to think. What should I do? Is sending more men to battle the best option? Should I give up? Can we actually do this? Is this even possible? He thought. “Are you okay?” a sweet voice said. James looked up from where he was sitting, and there was Jessica’s beautiful face staring back at him. James smiled. “I’m fine,” he said. “I don’t believe you,” she replied as she sat down right next to him, “You have been acting very weird and depressed ever since you got back,” “I…um… it nothing,” “No, really! What’s wrong?” You can talk to me,” Jessica pleaded. “It’s just that…. I hate the idea of putting more lives in danger with another battle,” stated James. “I know, I hate the thought of that too, but it might be the only way,” “Yea,” he mumbled. “I’ve been thinking that too. It might be the only way to win this war,” He said. Jessica looked at him with sympathy. ”I’m sorry you have to do this,” she whispered. “Yea, well…” James mumbled. He looked over at Jessica, and then their eyes met. They leaned close to each other. “Hey! You missed lunch! It was delicious! Vanessa can sure cook up a meal,” boasted Victor as he walked into the room. James and Jessica quickly moved away from each other. The rest of the men walked into the room with filled stomachs. “I need to talk to all of you,” announced James. All of the men who were talking to each other stopped and turn towards James. “I’ve done some thinking, and I realized that Vaughn is right. Sooner or later there is going to be one last battle. But there is one thing I want to do before we have a battle,” James said. “I want to try to rescue the men that were captured by the Orks,” All of the men looked at each other in disbelief. They all knew that it was impossible to get through hundreds of Orks to save their men who were probably in jail cells. They looked at each other and didn’t know what to say to him. “Ummmm…. James… We know you want to save all of those poor men that were captured, but it is almost impossible to do it without getting ourselves killed,” Spencer said after a few moments of silence. “I know, but before we go sending more men to get killed, I think we should find the rest of our army,” James replied.Again, of the men looked at each other in doubt that they could accomplish this task. “I agree with James,” Jessica almost whispered in the corner where she was standing. “I do too,” Vaughn exclaimed. “Me too,” Victor agreed. Eventually all of the men thought that saving their men was the right thing to do. Now everyone started making a new plan. They needed a way to get into The Highest Tower. According to the King of Yumazadra, that is where the Cyclopes kings kept all of his prisoners. The Highest Tower was said to be the most horrible place ever. “It’s in the middle of a huge field. It’s guarded by a few Orks. It doesn’t need much protection because no one has ever dared to go near the Tower,” the King of Yumazandra.
“You’re awake!” greeted Spencer.
